“Resume & Cover Letter”
Hi! I’m Olivia Han, an artist and teacher candidate based in Orange County, CA. I’m currently working toward my art teaching credential at California State University, Long Beach, and my goal is to create classroom spaces where students can explore, express, and grow. Both creatively and personally.
My teaching philosophy centers on supporting students as they chase their creative goals. I love designing fun, hands-on projects that allow them to experiment with different materials, connect with diverse art styles, and build confidence in their own voice. Whether it's through drawing, painting, ceramics, or digital illustration, I want students to feel seen and inspired.
As an artist, my work is deeply influenced by my personal experiences, culture, and even small everyday moments. I’m especially drawn to surrealism because it gives me space to balance creativity and structure, something I also carry into my teaching approach.
Outside of the classroom, you’ll likely find me playing Nintendo games, hanging out with my pets, or discovering new cafés. I also love connecting through conversation and storytelling, it’s often where my best ideas begin.
I look forward to bringing my creativity, cultural perspective, and passion for teaching into a learning community that values both artistic growth and meaningful connection.
Art is how I connect—with ideas, with people, and with myself.
